How it Works

1. Water vapour is collected

Using solar PV, fans draw in humid air and push it through a water-absorbing material that traps the water vapour.

2. Water vapour is extracted

Using the heat from the sun, the water vapour is extracted from the water-absorbing material and passively condensed into a liquid form.

3. Water is mineralised

The water then flows into a reservoir where it is mineralised with magnesium and calcium for health and taste adjustments.

4. Clean water is dispensed

Clean drinking water is then dispensed to be used or accessed via a tap.

5. Sensors optimize & monitor water

Sensors in the hydropanels monitor and optimise the water to maintain a high quality. The hydropanels are always monitored via the National Control Centre in Scottsdale, Arizona. SOURCE Hydropanels are different to conventional Air Water Generation (AWG) technology.

6. Air Water Generation (AWG)

Conventional AWG requires electrical supply to operate and also uses coolants and refrigerants, which have an impact on the environment. They also require filtration and disinfection processes and cannot produce water below a certain level of relative humidity in the atmosphere.

Benefits of EnergeiaWater

Completely off-grid.

These hydro-panels do not rely on electricity or water supply, and the water that is produced is a renewable source.

High water quality

The produced water has been tested by the CSIR and is compliant with SANS 241, as well as exceeding international water guidelines.

Water independence

Production by the panels is independent of any other traditional water sources, like dams and municipal infrastructure.

Performance Monitoring

The performance of each panel is monitored by the NOC and can be monitored on a smart phone.

Low Maintenance

A single Hydro-panel takes  a few hours to be installed, producing water within 24 hours. No further technical support or maintenance is necessary.

Eco-Friendly

Sustainable and renewable resource. No carbon footprint & reduced used use of plastic bottles
